From Curt's Journal:
It took us 3 days to tow out to Wendover, Nevada, 1550 miles, one way.
August 12,
Thursday 6pm, we arrived at the salt flats, dropped the trailer at our pit area.
August 13,
Friday, had the car tech inspected, returned to pit area to make changes per tech request.
August 14,
Saturday, completed the requested changes, had the car reteched and towed the car to the
short course starting line, left it there overnite for an early morning run.
From our pit area to the short course starting line was a 9 mile (yes, 9 mile) tow.
The short course was 4 miles long so, the tow back to the our pit area was about 13 miles.
August 15,
Sunday, made two runs.
August 16,
Monday, made two runs.
August 17,
Tuesday, during our pre run car prep, an internal engine problem was discovered and no more
speed runs were attempted.
August 18,
Wednesday, started return trip home.
If, a person is any type of racer, race fan or gearhead, Bonneville land speed racing is a "must see".
There is no other place like the Bonneville Salt Flats so, the location or event can not be duplicated any where
else in the world.
